Get Involved

The Boxborough Democratic Town Committee comprises passionate local Democrats working to support our community, candidates, and values through education, events, volunteering, and organizing.

There are numerous opportunities to get involved with Boxborough Democrats, either as a member or simply as a friend. Some of our annual events are listed below. For more information about upcoming events please see our Events page. To get in touch and to stay informed, visit our Contact page. Also, our members participate in other related groups working on Democratic and social justice causes where all of us can help.

Join us at any of our next regular BDTC committee meetings. The meetings are always open to the public. After attending two regular Boxborough Democratic Town Committee meetings, we can nominate you to become a participating member, either as a regular member or,  should we currently have more than 35 regular members, as an associate member.

Annual Picnic
For more than three decades, the Boxborough Democratic Town Committee and our Acton Democratic Town Committee colleagues have collaborated to hold an annual end-of-summer picnic. This event offers an opportunity to talk informally with Democrats from around our region, and with political candidates and elected officials. Picnic guests have included Sen. Elizabeth Warren; Congresswoman Lori Trahan; Massachusetts State Attorney General Maura Healey; Treasurer Deb Goldberg; Secretary of State Bill Galvin; Middlesex County Attorney General Marion Ryan, and, of course, our local representatives: State Senator Jamie Eldridge and State Representative Dan Sena. We also have welcomed many other Massachusetts state representatives and senators.

Massachusetts State Convention
The BTDC holds an annual caucus to elect delegates to the Massachusetts Democratic State Convention. The conventions are a great learning experience and opportunity to meet like-minded Massachusetts Democratic activists.

Fifer’s Day
Boxborough’s Fifer’s Day is usually held the third Saturday in June and takes place at Flerra Field. At the event, local organizations, including the BTDC, set up tables where they offer information about their organizations. BTDC are invited to staff the Committee’s table, provide attendees with information about the BTDC, and encourage visitors to become involved in Committee activities and issues.
